Production Assistant
Nicoll Entertainment (full time, permanent)


We are seeking a dedicated and highly organised Production Assistant to join our team, working in the office across our portfolio of shows.

The Production Assistant’s role is to assist in the management of Nicoll Entertainment’s productions and manage the content across our social media accounts. The Production Assistant supports the companies and shows that Nicoll Entertainment develops, produces and general manages, including West End productions, national and international tours.

This role works closely with the Assistant General Managers and General Manager. The Production Assistant will have a particular focus on administration, but will work with and deputise for the Assistant General Managers across the day to day operations of the company as the company expands. The position would suit an early career candidate with experience of managing content for social media accounts; someone who is hungry to learn and develop whilst delivering results in a busy production office.
 

Main Responsibilities

- Greeting all visitors and acting as an ambassador for Nicoll Ltd at all times

- Daily administration of invoices, receipts and petty cash

- Ordering couriers and cars

- Managing and updating company websites and social media accounts.

- Setting up meetings, drafting letters and minuting meetings 

- Liaise with producers, co-producers and creative teams as required and ensure that information is swiftly communicated 

- Assisting with investor packs / production proposals / marketing packs

- Booking meetings and organising rehearsal space

- Compiling and proofing production programmes

- Organising House seats and liaising with box office managers

- Assisting in the day to day managing of the productions 

- Attending rehearsals and previews 

- Ensure all email accounts, website & social media channels are active & content is relevant. 

- Researching writers, creatives and future projects

- Script reading and reporting

- Attending theatre performances – both in London and nationally – on the lookout for new talent

- Monitor developments in union agreements and ensure that Nicoll Entertainment fulfils its obligations as an employer.

- Assist in the procurement of visas, work permits and appropriate tax exemptions where necessary, in collaboration with the Finance Manager

- Attend running shows on a regular basis 

- Coordination of press and media performances and promotional events, including liaising with the press and marketing teams, performers, production departments, external venues, media outlets and broadcasters as appropriate 

- Respond to complaints and special requests 

- Managing all aspects of the production office, including sorting and arranging all post, ordering equipment and office supplies, answer the phones as required and be an ambassador for Nicoll Entertainment, providing a welcoming atmosphere and hospitality for colleagues and visitors

- Oversee data protection and be responsible for Nicoll Limited’s obligations as a Data Controller 

- Deputise for the General Manager and Assistant General Manager in their absence and address issues as they arise

- You shall obey all lawful and reasonable directions given to you by Nicoll Limited.

 

Person Specification

This role is primarily based in our office in central London. 

The core working schedule will be 35 hours per week, 10am - 6pm, Monday - Friday.

Some weekend and off-site working may be required, with time off in lieu given for these.

Salary £24 - 26k per annum depending on experience.

 

Essential Skills

At least sixth months relevant experience in a professional theatre environment

Excellent administrative skills alongside good IT skills and fluency in Word and Excel

Excellent organisational and communication skills and a high attention to detail

Good working knowledge of content management and social media platforms.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Commitment to achieving high standards

Positive and enthusiastic attitude, including a flexible approach and ability to use initiative for developing and delivering the job

The ability to respect confidentiality and use discretion 

Ability to engage confidently and pleasantly with a wide range of people.
